It has been two weeks since my exchange to Djakovo came to an end, but the memories are still very vivid in my head. This was the first erasmus+ that I ever participated in and I am so thankful for this opportunity. Even though it took place in a small city in Croatia, the impact it had on me was huge. I left Djakovo, not only having made new friends, but also having gained new knowledge on human rights, a better understanding of everyday life in other countries and a new perspective on life in general.

Thus, it was only natural that I would want to share this experience after coming back home. Apart from discussing it with my friends and family, I prepared a short presentation for my classmates at my french school. I made sure to explain what erasmus+ is, especially to those who weren’t familiar with it, and proceeded to share my own experience as a participant. I talked about how 40 people from different countries that had never seen each other before were brought together, and for nine consecutive days, spent most of their time together, either in workshops, exchanging views on the subject of human rights, or in breaks, sharing their personal stories. I presented some photos from the sessions and the energizers and my classmates were very interested to know more about non-formal education methods. I also shared some historical facts on the protection of human rights that I learnt during the exchange, and this led to a very fruitful conversation in class. After that, I showed them the video of our exchange and street action so that they could get a better sense of what it was like, and they really seemed to enjoy it.

Overall I think it went pretty well, even though I had to do the presentation in french! Some people were inspired and asked me more questions on erasmus+. I really enjoyed the process because it gave me the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge I gained through the exchange, not only on human rights but also in public speaking!

In order to dissiminate the project, I mentioned it on my radio show. I talked about where and when it took place, what was the main goal and explaines briefly what we learned during the project and which methods were used in order to reach the objectives and goals of the project. Also, in order to try to use some of the methods which we were using during the project, I did one workshop with my friends in order to raise their awareness about importance of human rights but also to make them think about it and discuss about it.
I, also, showed them the video about the project which I posted on Facebook too in order to reach more young people and make them interested about the projects in general but also to motivate them to become active in society and take the role in fight for protection of human rights.

For my dissemination activity I gathered 3 of my friends at my place in Volos, the city I study, in order to inform them about this specific project and show them everything we achieved in Djakovo, Croatia. Firstly, I explained to them what Erasmus + projects are about, what is the difference between Youth Exchanges, Training Courses and ESC’s while also giving them ways to gather more knowledge on how to apply to participate themselves in projects.

Next I explained to them that “Equality Timeline” project was about human rights and spreading awareness concerning this particular and greatly important subject. I presented the video that was made during the project while also infroming them about the workshops and street actions we performed. Finally I was asked a lot of questions from my friends who were very eager to search and motivated to participate themselves. I believe this dissemination activity was a pleasant success that reminded me all the good memories that were made. Thank you Cet_platform for having us!
